    Taylor…
I enjoyed meeting you at your release party for River of Kings. I’m looking forward to reading it. Charles and Jim sent me the autographed copy. Thanks for signing it for me. Charles was the head counselor at the Atlanta high school where I taught English. We’ve been great book buddies for over forty years. Happy writing on your new book.

PS: I am also looking forward to meeting Mary Todd Lincoln.

  3. Hi, Taylor. I read the story in the June 2020 edition of Reader’s Digest you wrote, On Dad’s Trail, Forever.
That was a beautifully done story, and I’m so sorry about the loss of your dad!

I know all too well what that feels like–I lost my own dad to Stage 4 lung cancer on 3-11-2019, and Dad had just had his 75th birthday on Thanksgiving, his favorite holiday.
Thanks again for your work, and please keep it up!
    -All the best, Carla

  4. Shout out to YOU Taylor Brown…Awesome short story in RD June 2020. Happy Trails to you and as you know…He’s looking out for you!! You are a lucky man to have a Dad like that. Peace ….. Katherine

  5. Taylor,
Great , great story in RD. I too had a father who quietly showed his love by working on projects together. There is something spiritual about being out on a bike and seeing , and smelling the landscape as it rolls by.

Sold my 2300cc Triumph and bought a retro Vespa in pristine condition. It’s great fun to park at a store and see the different ages excited by it.

My wife’s a published author (professionally) so I see firsthand the work it takes to bang out a book… You are blessed as a wordsmith! God Bless. Greg Eagy

I read your story in RD Happy Trails. I had advertised my 1989 HD 1200 sportster for sale , your father came and bought it. he told me he wanted it for a project bike for father and son. he told me his son has written books, and mentioned Bike Bound. He sent me a picture of finished bike and i was surprised to see a cafe racer. I read about his accident in the newspaper, sorry for your loss. If this is the bike in your story i am very happy i sold it to him,and you and him got to do the project together. You now have. the memories you can cherish of working on that project together. I live in Jacksonville Fl

  8. Dear Taylor:

I just finished your story, “Ride of Passage”, which gave me warm butterflies in my stomach. I so relate to southern road trips. Now, at 78, the long-haul trips of past adventures will have to be rekindled by authors such as yourself. I was inspired to pre-order Wing Walkers and sent two of your other books to my kindle.

Our summers, during the 50s, were spent on the Sapelo river at Pine Harbor, several miles south from Savannah. At Doty’s Fish Camp we were never at a loss for heart pounding adventures. Feral horses and pigs were one source of wonder plus we had the ebb and flow of the Sapelo River which was the water freeway to the environs of Blackbeard and other islands. I sometimes think my DNA is soaked with the water of the Georgia Coast. My father was born in Darien and we lived on St. Simons for a few years.

As an introduction I was raised in Sandy Springs Georgia, went to U of South Carolina, played professional basketball for 12 years, settled down in Phoenix and had a 33 year stint with a company I started in 1978, Sport Court of Arizona. I’m a signature watercolor artist (Arizona Watercolor Association and National Watercolor Society) and am an illustrator for my daughter in laws children’s books (mamafoxbooks.com).

I would like to send to you a book I wrote and illustrated about a fictionalized heist of a lot of loot from Jekyll Island during WWII. There are no expectations. I think you would get a kick out of it.

I look forward to hearing from you…Jim Fox

Not since Pat Conroy have I found an author that the ability to touch my soul like you have. When Mr. Conroy passed, I felt a deep and profound loss. I, like many others, felt a connection with this son of the “Low Country,” especially so after reading “The Great Santini.” We were both military brats with fathers cut from the same cloth as Bull Meechum. I thought I would never find another author that could light my fire like he did…until now.

Last week, my oldest son, his family and I went to our favorite book store – Shavers. Winding my through the bookshelves, I saw something that stopped dead in my tracks, It was “Wing Walkers.” I opened the book and was immediately hooked. I began my aviation career (military and civilian) in the mid sixties. Many of my mentors cut their teeth on those barn storming years. Three of them are now in the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame. I felt honored and humbled just to be around these guys.

I just finished “Wing Walkers” a few minutes ago. All I can say is…thank you.

  13. Hi Taylor,
I just wanted to commend you on the excellent work written in The River of Kings. My husband and I planned a week in Georgia. We traveled North into the mountains, walked through the streets of Atlanta, ate a delicious meal in Savanah at the historic Pirates Inn, got ice cream in Columbus, visited Phinizy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta, were awed by Okefenokee Swamp and loved the colors at Providence Canyon State Park. All along the way, we were accompanied by Hunter and Lawton Loggins. When we visited Cumberland Island, we found the history that you talked about at one of their visitor centers. We drove over the Altamaha River with an appreciation that we would not of otherwise had for its history. We discussed the book strolling through Jekyll Island and wonder through the streets of Tybee Island. You gave our trip to Georgia substance and made fans out of both of us. We plan on embarking on the rest of your literary journeys! Your style reminded us of the writings of Michael Ondaatje. The attention to detail and description in your story was appreciated. Thank you for becoming a writer!
